Trust & Safety Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Our Commitment

LeastClicks publishes user-contributed measurements of how many clicks common tasks take in popular apps. Because our data comes from the community, errors and disputes are inevitable. We commit to:

  • Acknowledge every request within 1 business day by email, with a unique tracking ID.
  • Substantively respond within 2 business days for most requests.
  • Take action within 5 business days of receiving sufficient evidence for valid requests.
  • Maintain a transparent appeal path for any decision you disagree with.

Types of Requests We Accept

1. Correction

Factual errors in click counts, app names, descriptions, or logos. Corrections are usually fastest if you can link to evidence (screen recording, official documentation).

2. Takedown

Full removal of an app listing or specific submission. We weigh takedown requests against the public interest in objective comparison. We may comply, partially comply (e.g., remove disputed content while keeping the listing), or decline with a reasoned explanation.

3. Trademark

We use app names and logos under nominative fair use — solely to identify the product being measured. If you believe our use exceeds fair use, please cite the specific use and your trademark registration.

4. Defamation / Inaccurate Claims

Include the exact text you object to, why it is inaccurate, and any supporting evidence.

5. Privacy (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

For personal-data removal requests, please indicate the specific data and your relationship to the data subject. We will verify identity before processing.

6. DMCA

Copyright takedown requests must include the sworn statement required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). Our designated agent will respond per the safe-harbor timeline. Counter-notices follow the same channel.

How to Submit

Submit a request →

No account is required. You will receive a tracking reference like LC-XXXXXX by email. Reply to that email to provide additional context or evidence.

What Happens Next

  1. You receive an auto-acknowledgement with your tracking reference.
  2. A Trust & Safety reviewer opens the case (status moves to Under review).
  3. If we need clarification, we email you (Awaiting info). Cases idle for 30 days without response are auto-closed.
  4. We take action (Actioned), reject with reasoning (Rejected), or close the case (Closed).
  5. You may appeal by replying to the resolution email. A different reviewer will re-evaluate.

Are You the App Owner?

If you represent the app being discussed, consider claiming your app first. Verified owners get a badge, can respond to submissions in-line, and can post official corrections — usually faster than filing legal requests. Verification uses an email at your domain or a DNS TXT record, the same standard used by Google Search Console and similar services.

Abuse

We log request metadata (hashed IP, email) to detect coordinated abuse. Bad-faith requests (frivolous, fraudulent, or sent at scale to suppress legitimate measurement) may be rejected and reported to the relevant authorities. We will not retaliate against good-faith requesters even when we disagree.

Designated Agent (DMCA)

DMCA notices may also be sent in writing to our designated agent. Please use the online form above for fastest processing.
